Autumn Pumpkins - $32 & $35

Harvest time is here and the pumpkins are starting to come in! Made of cotton fabric which has been painted & grubbied in several shades of perfectly primitive pumpkin (try saying that three times fast!), these pumpkins will emblazon your home with the finest of Autumn's splendor for many years to come!

The orange pumpkin is about 9.5" wide and 10" tall + 4" stem. The white pumpkin is about 8" wide and 11" tall + 3" stem. The green pumpkin is about 8" wide and 7.5" tall + 3" stem

These are just 3 of the many pumpkins I have available! I make several sizes of pumpkins, some tall and skinny, others are short and round, tall and round or short and skinny, etc., so if you're looking to fill a particular spot in your home, let's talk!

These pumpkins are my own original design, and were first made at the request of an antiques dealer in Marin County, California.

Minerva Bee - $18

Joining Myrtle in your primitive garden (indoors only, please), is Minerva Bee! I've made Minerva from painted & grubbied-up osnaburg. She has a bit of black hand stitching on her wings and a rusty square nail for a stinger (but I promise she won't use it!). A bit of grubby gauze around her neck and a few sprigs of Sweet Annie and she's ready to fly into your life! Minerva is mostly rag-stuffed! And if you'd like a whole swarm of primitive bees, Minerva Bee has siblings named Abner, Lucille, and Fernando who are all looking for good homes too!

Myrtle the Ladybug - $42

Myrtle's the one to blame ... honest! She's the one that got me started naming my dolls! Myrtle's black body is osnaburg and her lovely red ladybug jacket is muslin; both have been painted and grubbied-up, and I've given her a whole bunch of hand-sewn vintage black buttons for ladybug spots! She has rusty wire legs and vintage mother-of-pearl buttons for eyes. And, as she's been out and about in the Sweet Annie, she's got a few sprigs caught in her neckline! As a finishing touch, I've typed up a few lines from "In the Good Olde Summertime" onto stained parchment paper and have pinned that to her red jacket. Myrtle the Ladybug is 17.5" long and 9.5" wide and she's got a grubbied-up jute loop for hanging on your front door!.

Yuki - $26

Now's your opportunity to have your very own primitive (and magickal!) white hare! Yuki is made from painted & grubbied-up muslin and I've sculpted her haunches & ears with sturdy thread. She has vintage buttons for eyes and a soft antique cotton quilt batting tail. As a finishing touch, I've given her a blue crepe paper collar with her very own nametag. Yuki is a big girl, measuring in at 16" long and 9.5" tall.

Everyone needs a colonial pinkeeper! Sewers can hang them near their sewing area and everyone else can hang them in their laundry room (or anywhere for that matter!). I've made these pinkeepers from cotton fabric with a hand-stitched flannel accent. Each pinkeeper is 5-3/4" wide and 12" long including the hanger. The mostly vintage pins & needles are included, as shown!

Prairie Birds - $14 each

There's been some "new arrivals" in my studio -- a nest full of Prairie Birds! Shown above are five of the birds I currently have available (there are a few more, please inquire!). Each of the birds is approximately 9.5" to 10" long.  I've made each bird from cotton fabric that has been stained & aged, and they all have vintage button eyes. The paper which I used for the wings is actual pages from a 1921 book (the book was literally falling apart so I didn't feel too bad about using the pages). I also made a few birds with wool wings -- just one is shown above!

Only ONE of each bird is available!

Snowballs - $12/bag

These mica-covered snowballs have been very popular at my recent shows! Display them in a bowl, toss in your potpourri, or use in your favorite holiday gathering! Snowballs range from 1.5" to 3" in diameter and there's a variety of sizes in each bag (bags will vary ... there will either be more smaller ones, or fewer larger ones, generally 6 to 8 snowballs per bag). Each bag comes with the "snowball girl" primitive tag as shown!

Snowball Ornies - $2.50 & $3.50 each

These are the same snowballs as above, only with a rusty wire loop for hanging! Small ornies are 2" in diameter, and large ornies are 3" in diameter.

Kat'n'Crowz - $82

This is one of my favorite Halloween pieces I've ever made! It was a lot of work, but it was worth it!!! The base of this piece is a pumpkin made from grubby painted osnaburg fabric. I've used a piece of branch for the pumpkin stem! Sitting atop the pumpkin are a black cat made from vintage cotton flannel and two crows made from muslin; both have been painted & stained, of course! I've "pegged" the crows to the cat and the cat to the pumpkin with dowels and glue so they are very sturdy! The cat's face is embroidered and she has a needle-sculpted nose. Her neck ruffle is made from vintage crepe paper that I've stained. Her tail is wired and can be positioned as you wish. The crows wear putka pod necklaces and rest on nests of Spanish moss. The finishing touch is the "Merrie Halloween" banner which I've printed directly onto stained muslin; it's attached with rusty safety pins. This entire piece measures 20" tall and 17" long; I can see it sitting on a table in the entryway of your primitive country home!

Wicked Halloween Stocking

"Wicked" Halloween Stocking -$35/$38

A Halloween stocking made from "dirty" (painted & stained) osnaburg and sanded to primitive perfection -- that means there's some worn spots! The letters are stamped on individual squares of vintage linen and then sewn to the stocking by hand. Hangs by a grubby gauze loop pinned on with a rusty safety pin and rusty jingle bell! Comes with the Witches Bouquet as shown (price is $3 less if you want only the stocking).

Vintage Feather Ticking Hearts

Vintage Ticking Hearts - $8 each

Sweet little hearts made from genuine vintage feather ticking reclaimed from Grandma's featherbed! I've tied each heart with grubby gauze and added a sprig of preserved sweet annie and a rusty jingle bell! (I even took the time to tack the gauze on with a few stitches so it won't fall off!). Tall hearts are 3"x5" and the chunkier hearts are 4"x4". Let me know if you'd like a lighter blue or darker blue color!
